Taken ca. 1909, Wappapello Co., Mo. Jesse Willoughby Conner was a musician (by trade or pastime). He played local venues, wrote songs, and was said to have died from taking cold after wading a frigid and swollen waterway, keeping his instrument above his head.
Shown here is the one surviving child of the couple: Jesse Freeman Conner.
